Municipal Reinsurance Health Insurance Fund
The Municipal Reinsurance Health Insurance Fund, or the MRHIF, was established in 1999 when its four original member regional Health Insurance Funds “HIF”s determined that additional cost savings could be achieved by pooling together to provide excess reinsurance and jointly purchasing on other health-related services.
As of 2025 the Fund includes Seven regional local member HIFs, that insure over 315 Municipalities and/or School Districts in New Jersey.
